Community Guidelines
Standards for responsible use of Trustly
Our Mission
Trustly exists to make Discord communities safer and more welcoming for everyone. These guidelines ensure our service is used responsibly and ethically to protect users while respecting rights and freedoms.
Core Principle: With great power comes great responsibility. We trust server administrators to use Trustly's tools fairly and in good faith.

Global Ban System Guidelines
When to Submit Global Bans
Only submit users to the global database for serious violations:
- Harassment, threats, or doxxing
- Spam or malicious bot activity
- Sharing illegal content
- Raid participation or coordination
- Scamming or phishing attempts
- Severe or repeated Discord TOS violations
When NOT to Submit Global Bans
Do not submit users for:
- Minor rule violations or first-time offenses
- Personal disagreements or arguments
- Off-topic messages or minor spam
- Violating server-specific rules that aren't universal issues
- Leaving your server or "drama"
- Actions taken in other communities
Documentation Required: Keep evidence of violations that warrant global bans. You may be asked to provide proof if a ban is appealed.
Fair Moderation Standards
Investigation Before Action
Before taking serious moderation action:
- Gather complete context of the situation
- Review conversation history and previous warnings
- Consider user intent and circumstances
- Consult with other moderators when possible
- Document your decision-making process
Progressive Discipline
Use escalating consequences when appropriate:
- First Offense: Warning or temporary mute
- Second Offense: Temporary ban (hours to days)
- Third Offense: Extended ban or permanent ban
- Severe Violations: Immediate permanent ban
Appeal Process
Provide users with a fair appeal process:
- Clearly communicate how to appeal
- Review appeals objectively
- Consider reducing bans for reformed behavior
- Explain decisions in appeal responses
- Allow reasonable time for appeals (48-72 hours)
Data Privacy & Ethics
Respect User Privacy
- Only access user data necessary for moderation
- Do not share user information outside your moderation team
- Delete data when no longer needed
- Follow data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
- Honor user data deletion requests
Transparent Automation
